Test and or practice time?

Hi just wondering what the other teams do regarding testing and or practicing? How often are you testing and why?
Why is it important to test or practice?

For our team, we try to go out testing a week or two before a race to dial our setup, ie. clutch, gearing, carb. I think its important for Danny to have more seat time so he can continue to be competitive.

Biggest reason for us is that golden word< Seat Time. Hoping new car will be done this week.

We try to go and test the weekend before our race. Went out yesterday to test some different gearing and broke the crank in two, after taking it apart to inspect it and looking at the break you could see it had been cracked for awhile before it let go. Sure glad it happened then instead of on race day.
